Diesel: The Interim Fuel

Storyline: Why is diesel considered the interim fuel of today? How does it bridge the gap between our dependency on gasoline and the future of bio technologies? Due to 20-40 percent higher fuel efficiency, the use of ultra-low sulfur diesl fuel, and ever-evolving emissions control technology, diesel engines can actually be made to run cleaner than a gasoline engine.

Contact the knowledgable staff at CleanAIR Systems for an in-depth discussion on the pluses of diesel vehicles.

The History of Emissions Control Technology Through the Eyes of CleanAIR's President

Storyline: Begining in the seventies, CleanAIR's president, Michael Roach has witnessed many changes, innovations and laws when it comes to emissions control technology. Beginning his career at Corning, Roach saw the introduction of ceramic substrates being used to control diesel emissions. He went on to establish his own company when "green" wasn't cool. Throughout his career , Roach has always believed in looking to the future, striving to elevate emissions control technology, thereby bringing it to the forfront of innovation in the United States.

Miners' Exposure to Air Pollution

Storyline: Until recently, miners were not protected from exposure to particulate emissions issuing from their diesel vehicles and machinery. Although many studies have shown fine particulate matter to be a serious health threat, mining companies have traditionally fought against laws that would require emissions control technology to be retrofitted on equipment in order to protect the health of their workers. Recent court rulings are changing the state of air quality in mines.

Particle Pollution in America

Storyline: 53.1 million Americans suffer from chronic exposure to particle pollution, also known as particulate matter. Particulate can be reduced by retrofitting diesel engines with diesel particulate filters. CleanAIR Systems has been retrofitting engines since 1993 with emissions control technology, but many of their products are exported to countries with more progressive pollution laws than the USA.

Learn more about emissions control technology and how the tide is finally turning here in the United States.
