CleanAIR Celebrates 15 Years in Business with Move to New Facility
Purchased in 2006, CleanAIR Systems spent the past two years refurbishing the facility that began life in the mid-70’s as a Levi Straus plant. Staying true to their environmental background, the company modernized the aging 35-year old structure utilizing green building concepts, creating a clean, modern floor plan for its corporate and manufacturing headquarters.
Environmental improvements included:
- removal of asbestos floor tiles throughout the facility
- the installation of a state-of-the-art geothermal heating and cooling system
- replacing all existing lighting with energy-efficient fixtures
- installing a solar-powered automatic gate opener
- water-saving xeriscaping
- natural lighting throughout office spaces through the use of skylights.
CleanAIR is also considering future installation of solar or wind power to subsidize the electrical needs of the company.
The company moved its administrative and engineering offices, emissions testing facility, catalyst production and steel fabrication to the new facility in October, more than doubling the size of their former location.
Founded in 1993, CleanAIR Systems began with approximately 1,000 square feet of rented space. Today the company sells proprietary emissions control technology throughout the world, with sales representatives in Sweden, South America, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
During the company’s fifteen year history, CleanAIR has developed and introduced thirteen new technological advancements to the field of air pollution control. In 2008, Caterpillar Corporation, the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, selected CleanAIR Systems as a strategic alliance partner for emissions control products, supplying retro-fit technologies for Caterpillar prime and back-up generators.
The company has recently introduced two new products:
- The E-POD™ - a hybrid technology for large diesel and natural gas stationary engines. Dramatically reduces emissions of NOx, PM, HC and CO. The E-POD™ was recently installed in the oil and gas fields of Wyoming.
- The BlueFIRE™ - an active filter system for diesel off-road vehicles. Dramatically reduces emissions of PM, HC and CO. The E-POD™ is currently being tested on SnowCat vehicles in Tahoe, Nevada.
